SyrahDirk has always been a big fan of the wines of Côtes-du-Rhône, especially Cote-Rotie and Hermitage. At Quinta de Baixo, it is our intention to make a Syrah with character that expresses the fantastic potential of our calcareous-clay soils. In 2012, the first edition was vinified in only one old barrel, with minimal intervention and following the first steps of Biodynamics.

About the Producer Niepoort Vinhos
São seis as gerações responsáveis por redigir a história da família Niepoort desde 1842 até aos dias de hoje. Em comum têm a paixão pelo vinho, uma paixão que respeita a tradição, mas que não tem medo de se aventurar por caminhos novos sempre que a irreverente flor da criatividade é chamada a despontar.
Dirk é o atual líder da família, que herdou do seu pai Rolf o desafio de “inovar mantendo as boas tradições”. Nada para o qual o seu perfil não estivesse talhado, ou não fosse este membro da quinta geração da família um curioso nato: atento a tudo o que se passa à sua volta, Dirk reconhece quando uma oportunidade única lhe bate à porta e age sem hesitações.
Os seus filhos, Daniel, Marco e Ana, caminham a seu lado, seguindo-lhe as pisadas para que os próximos capítulos da história da Niepoort continuem a ser fartos e generosos, como o é cada vindima.
