Brandy

Aguardente is Portugal’s brandy, a classic spirit, distilled from wine or pomace and refined by slow distillation in pot stills. Styles include Aguardente Vínica, Bagaceira and Medronho.

● When aged in oak, it becomes Aguardente Velha, with notes of dried fruit, vanilla and spices, often from aged Port wine barrels. Enjoy neat in a tulip-shaped glass as a digestif or with roasted nuts and cheese.
