Francisco Olazabal is the patriarchal and visionary force behind the epic Quinta do Vale Meão, shaping vintages that represent the absolute luxury of the Upper Douro. ● Great-great-grandson of the legendary Dona Antónia Adelaide Ferreira, Francisco Olazabal (affectionately known as Vito) made the courageous decision to modernize and take over in-house production of the iconic Quinta do Vale Meão in the late 1990s. Alongside his family, he rescued the heritage of the vineyards that once supplied Barca-Velha to create a cult brand of timeless prestige.
