Tempranillo is Spain’s leading grape and one of the world’s most noble red varieties, recognized for its elegance and versatility. In Portugal, it shines under the names Aragonês or Tinta Roriz. This grape produces intense-colored wines with seductive aromas of ripe cherry, plum, leather, and tobacco, especially when aged in oak. On the palate, Tempranillo stands out for its masterful balance between polished tannins and refreshing acidity. It is the backbone of great wines from Rioja and Douro, offering remarkable sophistication and longevity.
