Born from a deep understanding of premium international wines and spirits, our journey started long before the name Foz Gourmet existed. Since 2009 we worked with some of the world’s most prestigious and rare wines, handling mostly top-end labels in a highly specialized B2B market.

But something was missing…

We wanted to experience the wines we sold, engage directly with the people drinking them and fill the culture gap on international wines, bringing those, high-end wines to customers in a way that felt personal and accessible.

That’s when Foz Gourmet was born.

In 2016, we opened our first store in Foz do Douro, Porto, a beautiful and historic part of the city. The store was minimal, elegant, and designed to transport visitors around the world through carefully selected wines. Our concept was simple: quality over quantity, offering an exceptional selection from Portugal and beyond.

By 2017, we took this philosophy online, launching fozgourmet.com, one of Portugal’s first e-commerce wine stores that combined design, functionality, and user experience. Until then, most online wine shops were outdated, built from generic templates. Our site changed that, raising the standard and setting a new benchmark in the industry.

We expanded in 2018 with a second store in Aviz, Porto, allowing us to host wine tastings and exclusive events. But the real turning point came in 2019, when we realized that our online store was outperforming our physical locations -sometimes, we were shipping to customers just next door who never placed foot in the store.

With this shift in mind, we made a bold decision: we closed both stores and focused 100% on e-commerce.

That move proved to be the right one, and by 2020, Foz Gourmet was fully digital, operating from a warehouse on the outskirts of Porto, partnering with the best distributors in Portugal to ensure fast, secure deliveries.
