Casas Altas

Located in Beira Interior, Casas Altas is a project valuing the high-altitude terroir, creating wines of strong personality, mineral purity, and singular freshness.

● Born from José Madeira Afonso's vision, the Casas Altas project is rooted in Beira Interior, between the Estrela and Malcata mountains. Taking advantage of the high altitudes and rich granitic soils, the winemaking focuses on a purity profile, allowing the extreme thermal climate to chisel the grapes' acidity and aromas. With a strong focus on the Síria grape for tense whites, and Rufete and Touriga Nacional for highly precise, clear-fruited reds, the winery delivers sophisticated bottles perfectly representing the untamable character of the Portuguese mountains.
