Vinhão is the soul red grape of the Vinho Verde and Douro regions (where it is known as Sousão), famous for being a ‘teinturier’ variety with impenetrable color and very high acidity. This variety is essential for producing wines with vibrant chromatic intensity and an elegant rustic character. Its aromas are marked by wild fruits and refreshing herbaceous notes.
