Códega

Códega, also widely known as Síria or Roupeiro, is one of the most planted white grape varieties in the interior of Portugal, particularly in Douro and Beira Interior. It is characterized by a remarkable aromatic exuberance in its youth, featuring intense citrus and floral notes. On the palate, it offers smooth and approachable wines with a medium body and balanced freshness. It is a fundamental component in traditional white blends, contributing perfume and elegance, and is also used in the base of White Port wines.
