Müller's pale-colored 2014 Scharzhof #1 displays lovely ripe fruit flavors. Full-flavored, juicy and piquant on the palate, provided with typical Saar acidity, this is a lush and well focused Riesling with vivid acidity and good substance. Impressively good.
While still being massively reduced, this gorgeous wine slowly develops a superb and classically Kabinett nose of pear, green apple, gooseberry, mint, herbs and a feeling of chalky minerals. For the “BUBBLY BRUT” we pick our Chardonnay & Pinot Noir grapes exclusively in the high mountain plots. Following the first fermentation in small stainless steel tanks and tonneaux barrel, the wines undergo a secondary fermentation in the bottle and are left to age “sur lie” for nine months.
