Deeply colored wine, with a powerful attack, full of intensity, where you can easily find fresh fruity notes. It is very well structured which will make you age very well. After harvest, autumn brought rainy weather, which allowed the end of the year to reach about 50% of the annual average precipitation (200 of the average 400mm), thus compensating for the lack of rain that characterized the rest of 2012. The beginning of 2013 proved to be dry and cold, with this situation continuing until the middle of March. Thus we had a sprout about 15 days later than normal. The rain returned in March, in such a quantity that there was, in early spring, a flood in the Douro. The months of April, May and June were abnormally fresh and with relatively frequent precipitation, which allowed a perfect development of the vegetal cover and a production superior to 2012. We entered the summer without any type of water stress and with temperatures lower than normal for the season. At the beginning of July, there was a violent heat wave of about 10 days that, however, did not cause damages due to the vegetative and water balance achieved. The rest of July was again cooler than usual, with August bringing with it typical temperatures of the summer season. This situation allowed for a very balanced maturity evolution and the delay that occurred during the sprouting period continued at subsequent phenological stages, even postponing the harvesting date.
