The Kukicha Karigane is a top quality Kukicha. It is a blend of the stems (kukis) together with a selection of fine leaves of the Gyokuro variety, which is grown in the shade during the last 21 days before harvest and is harvested only once a year. The Hayashi family from the Mie prefecture, steam their teas for longer than normal (known as the fukamushi process), which opens the stems and leaf structures. The result is a tea with delicate and deep flavours.
