The Alpha Cuvée is the crown jewel of Maison JACQUART with both noble and audacious qualities.
2006 was a delicate year that produced grape musts of low acidity but with great finesse. The vineyards suffered from a varied summer with a scorching July followed by a particularly rainy august. 2006 is part of a cloaked vintage that reveals its velvety qualities.
The blending of this splendid cuvée is carried out equally with all the freshness of Chardonnay and the force of Pinot Noir from the Montagne de Reims.
The 6 year ageing of these wines on the lees follows a respectful vinification in which all the aspects reveal a wine that is velvety, fresh and delicate.
From the first glance, the Cuvée 2006 reveals the visual sensation of a rich and fresh champagne of a lovely shade. Its elegant allure is highlighted by notes of honeysuckle, lime and buttercups followed by a fruity palate with hints of raspberry, orange marmelade, lemon, cherry and blackcurrant with hints of liquorice and black pepper. The delicious and sensory basis delicately reveals itself through a chalky minerality, orchestrating with panache and delicacy the velvety, tactile sensation which is subtly touched by a saline hint. On the finish it is fresh and smooth with an underlying citrus acidity of grapefruit as well as a return to the previous bold and aromatic fruity and iodic notes.
